Washington DC Trip

Edd's work called him to DC for a week. So, we decided to make a little mini-vacation out of the trip and keep Dad from having to spend Father's Day by himself in a hotel room. Michael and I flew up on Thursday. While Edd was hard at work Michael and I played in the capital city on Friday. We spent half of the day at the National Zoo and the other half of the day at the Air and Space Museum on the Mall. On Saturday we all drove out to Charlottesville and visited Monticello. Sunday we visited the "new" Air and Space Museum branch at Dulles airport before Michael and I returned home Sunday evening. It was a whirlwind trip and Michael is already talking about going back to see some of the things we didn't get to see. We did make two passes by the White House so now he's telling everyone he went to the President's House. Of course, you couldn't see everything in DC if you had two weeks to spend but I think it was a good introduction for Mr. Michael. He was worn out by the end of our day each day and happy to be back in the car or hotel for a "little rest". So many places, so little time. Enjoy the pics! By the way - a couple of pics at the beginning are Michael's self-portraits - I'm sure you can figure out which ones. He took those at the airport among others.
