Memorial Day

Seems like we need to tell people what we did for memorial day

Well, we spent the day cutting a hole in the house,

and we spent the day smoking some ribs and brisket

oh yeah, that was good stuff

E had some guys in town working in the office for all the London stuff so they came out to the house and shared a home cooked meal with us

All in all, it was a good day!   (except for the wreck M and I saw on the way to Fil's that day, but the guy was ok so in the end I guess that is ok also)

Hope everyone had a good long weekend

Way to go TIGERS

The tigers have been in a little bit of a slump lately,

just havent been able to pull it all together to make that Win, or that second win.

Well this past weekend was different,  they showed up to play.

Won both their pool games on Saturday against 2 good teams,  then won the first 2 games on Sunday to get to the semi finals.  Played the #1 seed and held with them the whole game, just couldnt pull off the win.

Still, not as concerned about the win as long as they play hard, and they did play hard

Going out to the hanger,  M immediately gets out of the truck and starts running around.

OK, I finally got him.  He ran out of steam and sat down on the futon to watch the ranger's game

At least he has a good time when we go out there

thats all I can say right now...  Let me see if I can catch up on things that have happened since I last posted

....M is out of school, he is no longer a 5th grader.  He is happy to be out of school, and ready for the summer, but at the same time nervous about the fall.  new school, new friends, new everything...

.... We bought an aircraft hanger  (Finally!)  Yes, after working on this for 4 months, we are finally the proud owners of an aircraft hanger.  (no, we dont own a plane, nor do we plan on buying a plane)

...  I have a new job,  well I guess its not a new job, because I am doing the same thing as before, with the same people as before, from the same place, but other than that, everything is different.  I know, that doesn't really make any sense.  I can tell you its a long story and has more drama than any afternoon soap opera.  I am not going to take the time to write it out here.  If you want the story, come by, get a cold drink, make yourself comfortable and I will share the story.  Be prepared for a roller coaster ride.

Other than that, the tigers are still playing baseball, E and I are working way too much, Bo complains a lot, Belle whines a lot, and Domino is still upset that we have stopped feeding him people food

UGGG, thats all I got through,  what can I say, I'm not the literary type

so ANYWAY....  We had a tourney in Oklahoma last weekend and boy was it an adventure.

Friday we had a game at 6, which means we had to pull M out of school early (he only missed his study period) and hump it up there to get to the field in time to warm up for the game.  We played the #1 AAA team in Oklahoma.

Saturday morning we had an early game, played the #1 AAA team from Kansas.

Saturday Afternoon we had our third pool game and the outcome should have been different from the first two

but it wasnt.

We were able to watch B play some as some of the times worked out, and Vice Versa

We ran into JJ, who we dont see much anymore and were able to catch up with them.

Sad when we have to go to Oklahoma to see our friends...

Saturday night we had a team party at the hotel,  The boys swam in the pool, the parents sat on the hotel patio and complained about all the boys.  A good time was had by all

Saturday evening we found out we seeded in the "copper" division, no surprise there, but that meant our first game wasnt until Sunday afternoon

That game was good, they looked great coming out of the gate and we got a good jump on the other team,

but in the end, it wasnt to be, and the team walked away sad

I am happy to report though that JJ (in 11U) won the copper division.  (it was actually cool because his first sunday game and our first sunday game were on field back to back with each other so all of us were walking back and forth to see how each other was doing.

All in all, I am glad to be back in Texas




And for something completely different

While waiting on our game to start, this butterfly landed on my hand and licked the salt off my skin for a long time.  Even flew off when he got scared and came back for more.  Guess its cuz I'm no sweet!
