October

Hard to believe October is already behind us. Next stop - Thanksgiving and Christmas... uggghhh and oh boy! October was a very busy and exciting month at our house. The State Fair, baseball, soccer, Halloween and the arrival of baby Grace. We're excited to welcome Grace to the family and can't wait to watch her grow up and give her parents fits!

We spent our day at the fair with Jennifer, Zachary and Gaby.
It was cold and wet but everyone had a great time.

Baby Grace arrived October 28. She's a cutie!!

After a while, looking at a baby isn't all that much fun. So, Michael decided to try on her hat. We were all surprised when it actually fit. He did a little dance and gave us his "elf" face.

Team Ivory Coast placed 3rd in the Intramural League at TCA. Everyone got a medal, Michael is still wearing it around the house.

This year's costume choice - Shadow Trooper. I never knew I would learn so much about Star Wars, I never knew I wanted to know so much about Star Wars - oh yeah, I didn't....

Michael's 8th Birthday

Hard to imagine but my baby turned 8 this year. We kept it small (but not quiet) and just invited a couple of close friends for a trip to the Ranger game and for a sleep-over. The Ranger game was rained out but the boys somehow managed to have fun anyway. We set up a tent in the family room and they "camped out" there.

Fall Baseball!

Of course, I could not make a posting about soccer without also posting about baseball. It's still Michael's favorite sport and he's doing great. This season he's playing on the Red Sox. He was thrilled to get the game ball the 2nd game of the season. Go Red Sox!

Soccer!

I know, I know, you never thought you'd hear me say it - Michael is playing two sports this season. We've been so busy I haven't even had time to update the blog. But yes, he is currently playing soccer in addition to baseball. The soccer is an intramural thing at TCA and he is loving it. Here's a picture of him playing goalie and one of his team. Go Ivory Coast!!!

Temple Christian Academy

Today is Michael's 1st day of 3rd Grade. Hard to imagine, where does the time go? He's starting a new school and hopefully making lots of new friends. Friday was an open house of sorts but he didn't really talk to any of the other children. Yesterday was a little pre-school party and he got to meet a few of the other children in his class. There are 15 children in his class and a whole other 3rd grade class of potential friends. He's such a social butterfly I don't think he'll have any issues making friends, I only hope he doesn't show off so much he gets in trouble with his teacher.

Beaver's Bend Lake

In our last gasp effort for a Summer vacation we drove up to Broken Bow, OK and Beaver's Bend Lake. We rented a cabin in Hochatown not far from the lake. We also rented a boat for the day to play on the lake. Michael spent nearly the entire time hanging on to the tube dragging behind the boat and had a great time. Edd even tried it a couple of times. It was a nice get away but there's not much to do in Broken Bow - fair warning. Here are a couple of pictures, more on FB if you're interested.

Birmingham!

Michael and I just spent a couple of days in Birmingham with our friends. We drove up to Huntsville to take the kids to the US Space and Rocket center. Not nearly as big as Space Center Houston but it was very cool and the kids had a great time. We had a very nice visit and it was good to see them. Here are a couple of pics, if you'd like to see more, check out my Facebook photos.
